Fells Group, one of Maryland’s premier public affairs agencies, is seeking a communications associate who is passionate about public affairs, politics and policymaking. They will be an integral team member on client projects.

This is an entry-level opportunity ideal for strong writers who are deliberate, pay attention to detail, and are ready to project manage content creation. They should be excited by the prospect of being intimately involved with developing and implementing communication strategies.

First and foremost, the candidate must excel at writing both short (social media, ad copy, statements, etc.) and long form content (website pages, press releases, strategy memos, etc.). Fells Group is proud to have a diverse set of clients – we work with everyone from neighborhood festival organizers to large corporate clients. This is an exciting opportunity to produce content for different mediums, drive messaging for unique causes, and utilize a variety of writing styles.

Secondly, the candidate must be willing to either create or guide the production of content that will be distributed through standard public relations channels: e-blasts, social media, and websites. If the candidate is not experienced in video or graphic design, they must project manage the production of such content with Fells Group vendors.

The new team member will schedule, publish, and report on relevant data for these communications platforms for client review.

You will be compensated for the time taken to compose the answers.

This is a position that requires you to be available in-person most days a week at the Baltimore, Maryland office, as well as travel to client locations as needed.

You must bring to the position:
–A strong set of writing skills across mediums
–An ability to be deliberate and detail-oriented
–Passion for politics and keeping-up with current events
–An analytical perspective and skill for data and strategy
–Readiness to deliver or manage creative production projects

You should be proficient in the following:
–Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel (or Mac/OS Equivalents)
–2 of the Following Social Media Platforms: YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, TikTok, X
–1 Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform such as MailChimp, VoteBuilder, NGP Van, Salesforce, HubSpot, etc.

Undergraduate Majors/Minors Encouraged to Apply:

Employment Benefits:
–Salary range $45,000–$55,000. Salary is commensurate with experience.
